Paul Halsall
From William A. Percy
Paul Halsall is a medievalist born in the English midlands and partly educated in Scotland. Twenty years ago he moved to New York City to pursue graduate work in Byzantine studies at Fordham University. While still a graduate student he began to create web sites of great value to scholars. The most relevant in our context is “People with a History” (www.fordham.edu/halsall/pwh/). This is a major annotated bibliography covering gays, lesbians, and transpeople. There are links to other sites created by Halsall. PWH is an ideal supplement and continuation of Wayne Dynes, Homosexuality: A Research Guide.
Unfortunately Paul Halsall had to to discontinue this work in 1998 in order to complete his doctorate and to assume a professorship in history at North Florida University in Jacksonville. Recently, I heard that he had returned to England.
