Whilst it's important to highlight the outrageous consequences of imprisoning so many of our fellow citizens, the New York Times fails to comment on the increasing numbers of sex offenders in prison. I propose a revolutionary and groundbreaking reform to the criminal justice system, which might go some way to alleviating some of these problems.

I suggest that those convicted of sex offences should have the right of appeal through a second trial, in front of a judge and jury, when they can put foward their case, and argue if there was in fact any harm done to the victim. I believe this is in-keeping with natural justice, whilst still being attentive to the needs of genuine victims of sexual crimes.
