A heroic scholar, activist and disciple of the brahman, Harvard College graduate Prescott Townsend, longtime president of Mattachine/Boston (whose life was written by Charlie Shively in Before Stonewall). James Dubro was also student of of Antonio (Tony) Giarraputo, also a graduate of Harvard College, with an M.A. from that elite college also, but descended from poor Sicilian immigrant parents, the secretary of Mattachine/Boston, and a neighbor of mine for four years on Union Park in the South End of Boston and long time friend of mine, has blossomed as a journalist in Toronto.
Dubro's classmate at Boston Latin, Adrian Cathcart, pseudonym of John Kearney, was also protege of Presott Townsend and student of Giarraputo. Cathcart's unpublished biolography Townsend appears on my website. Cathcart died suddenly a few years ago either by murder or a drug overdose, the cost of which he may have secured from a computer I bought for him, which he promptly sold for drugs.
