Harry Hay

Dear Reader,

I personally will no longer be adding to or developing this section of the Website, though as always I welcome any useful edits or additions by my readers.

There are many other scholars and activist who deserve mention—and those listed certainly deserve more attention than is posted here. To give fair coverage to them all, however, would take an infinite amount of time, work, and money. I have not bothered to compile profiles on the top four gay historians of the United States: Johnathan Ned Katz, John D’Emilio, Martin Duberman, and George Chauncey. They are well known already.

I have requested but still await a profile from John O'Brien, a Stonewall veteran who cared for Jim Kepner in his latter days, when I visited him in Los Angeles, and has contributed significantly to gay archives. I also wish to include Stuart Timmons, whom I met when Harry Hay and John Burnside came to stay with me in Boston and he tagged along.

Thank you!

William A. Percy
