Edward Boyce is a mathematician, a computer expert, a journalist, a married father of three, an activist, and a scholar.
He married his wife Monica some 12 years ago, having rented from me the apartment above me for about eight years previously. During that time he filled in, helping me run my business affairs, scholarship and activism. A broadminded, tolerant fighter for justice for others, Ed has been a great help to the gay cause.
Monica, a scientist with a Ph.D. in biology from Emory University, is also an activist as well as a brilliant scholar. She ran for the Massachusetts House of Representatives as a Democrat in a heavily Republican district.
They are, in short, an exemplary couple — well educated, highly intelligent and public spirited enough to work for the common good while parenting their three children with great care.
